Trauma Lives in The Body Cells.

Learn about our mission to bring a truly integrative approach to mental health.

Our Story:

Trauma leaves invisible scars. And though these scars are hidden, they are as dangerous as any criminal, as harmful as any toxin. Trauma sucks the light out of life. It makes it feel dark and hopeless.

The Institute For Integrative Trauma is a mission to reimagine mental health and transform the therapeutic landscape. We believe we heal trauma not by limiting our focus to the trauma memory but by boldly striving for well-being, while acknowledging and transforming the challenges and emotional barriers that arise as we do. As we meet these challenges and move through them, their transformation becomes evidence that we are resilient, strong, and capable.

Traditional methods of therapy often fall short because they focus solely on the mind. Somatics has taken a step in the right direction by introducing the idea that trauma is stored in the body. However, this ignores the critical interactions between cellular and biological health and its interaction with mental health. It’s impossible to treat trauma objectively without acknowledging the myriad ways physical health influences it. Our training paradigm is at the very forefront of mental health.

The key to building lasting mental health is to focus on the roots of trauma that live in the cells. Our trainings introduce you to an entirely new paradigm that will help you and your future clients not only heal from trauma but live truly thriving lives.

We dream of a world where we no longer pathologize our challenges and instead proactively build resilience to process the inevitable challenges of life. Our trainings are a deep dive into all the nuance and subtlety of the nervous system and a journey to embody a living example of radical wellbeing.

We are not academics. We are not researchers. We are frontline trauma workers who love this work immensely. Our trainings are deep journeys of inner spiritual work that will give you a strong foundation of somatic tools you can apply to whatever you do next. We hope to set a living example and a community you can draw inspiration from throughout your career.
