Trauma is Sensitive. Integrity Is Critical.
Integrity is the backbone of our mission. We are in continued conversation and discovery about the meaning and application of integrity in trauma care.
What is Integrity?
We define integrity as alignment and continuing conversation with our deepest values and how that reflects in our work. Integrity asks us to constantly acknowledge our own limitations and expand our perspective as to how we can be a more positive influence on those around us.
Pillars Of Integrity:
1. Individualized, Human-Centered Approach.
Every instance of trauma is unique and ultimately subjective. We must approach trauma with an individualized approach that allows clients to direct their own healing process. The role of practitioners is to create a safe space and guide clients in their discovery process.
2. Clarity & Context.
Due to the sensitive nature of trauma work, Practitioners must create clarity and understand the appropriate context for their offerings. Opening up trauma is NOT the same as healing trauma. We must seek to understand the appropriate context for trauma work, and when it is inappropriate. Practitioners should be well versed in identifying trauma severity to know what they are qualified to handle.
3. Embodied Nervous Systems.
Knowledge and skill alone are not enough to transform trauma. Trauma is highly sensitive, and practitioners must embody a regulated nervous system to do this work effectively. This requires significant dedication and commitment to personal practice.
4. Continued Learning.
As our collective knowledge of trauma treatment expands, it’s critical for practitioners to stay educated and connected to a professional community which helps distribute increased clarity and context of treatment approaches. We seek to give our practitioners avenues to connect with the community to stay at the forefront of trauma treatment.
5. Radical Inclusion.
Trauma work should not only be made available to the financial elite. We encourage our practitioners to continuously find ways to make their practice more inclusive and reach new audiences.
